DETERMINANTS OF BANK PROFITABILITY AND PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY ON STATE BANK OF INDIA IN VISAKHAPATNAM

Abstract
The current study attempts to identify the major factors determining the performance and profitability of the State Bank of India (SBI), which is the biggest public sector commercial bank in India. Using a mixed-methods empirical design, the study draws on secondary panel financial data and primary findings from surveys of branch managers in Visakhapatnam. The results show that internal operational drivers, including net interest income from credit lending and operational efficiency, are major triggers for profitability in institutions. Non-performing assets (NPAs) are, however, the major structural challenge to asset quality and return metrics such as ROA and ROE. From an external perspective, the major challenges are macroeconomic instability, the interest rate environment, and regulations from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The analysis shows that digital transformation strategies, along with portfolio diversification through entry into high-yielding retail portfolios and fee-based advisory services, reduce operational costs considerably while stabilizing revenues. These findings suggest that SBI should prioritize operational efficiency, NPA control, digital transformation, and revenue diversification to strengthen profitability in practice and improve performance.

Abstract
For businesses to contribute to the growth of the economy in a way that benefits everyone, innovation and entrepreneurship are essential. In a world where technology is evolving quickly, powerful individuals are connected globally, and we must take care of the environment, a good businessperson will always be looking for creative ways to do things. This study examines the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship and how it impacts the economy. The study discusses the significance of developing fresh concepts and examines how entrepreneurship and innovation may support economic expansion, ensure that everyone has access to opportunities, and safeguard the environment. The findings demonstrate how crucial innovation and entrepreneurship are to ensuring that everything is well-balanced. Companies that innovate and launch new ventures contribute to the expansion of the economy in a way that benefits all. To make this happen, entrepreneurship and innovation are essential.

INFLUENCE OF ADMIRED TEACHERS ON PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AMONG UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract
Teachers who are admired by students can serve as important role models by providing academic guidance, motivation, professional direction, ethical values and opportunities for personal development. This paper investigates the influence of admired teachers on the personality development and professional growth of undergraduate students. Recognising teachers as significant role models, the research examines how admiration for educators affects students’ self-confidence, interpersonal skills, and career aspirations. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data assess correlations between teacher admiration and student outcomes, while qualitative interviews provide nuanced insights into students’ experiences. Results demonstrate that admiration for teachers is positively associated with enhanced motivation, communication abilities, and clarity in professional goals, underscoring the vital role of positive teacher-student relationships in higher education. The paper particularly focuses on the Professional Growth (PG) dimension, consisting of nine Likert-type items. Data were collected from undergraduate students using a structured research tool. For the present analysis, 150 complete responses were considered. Descriptive statistics, item analysis, reliability analysis and a one-sample t-test were applied using the Professional Growth dimension. The findings revealed a high level of perceived professional growth associated with admired teachers.
